while its not as fantastic as Baraka being that is was their first film. It still is a stunning piece of film that attempts to unify all of man by making the audiences seeing different cultures, landscapes, and visuals images that attempt to awe its audience, and just like Baraka, it works. It may be on a smaller scale but....it works. Chronos is like Reservoir Dogs to Pulp Fiction, or School Daze to Do The Right Thing, as far as directing, and lineage of films go.

I didn't quite care for the overly electronic soundtrack, but other than that Chronos is an intriguing look at the early ideas on concepts such as nature, human behaviour, and impermanence that Ron Fricke would later develop in Baraka, and Samsara.

lost interest after 20 minutes of sunrise/sunsets and rolling clouds. Time lapse cinematography of stationary objects is somewhat ...boring after awhile.

Its cool looking and listening during the movie but it can get boring. Its an Art film but I think it goes far beyond to Artsy for me.

The Killing of a Chinese Bookie was a very good character study. I think the film focused a little too much on the skits at the strip club though.

Chronos was ok, but I watched it when I was exhausted so I wasn't able to enjoy it as much as I would have. It was no where near Baraka though.

I watched these before I came over to San Diego. It's been great so far. Weather is much better than Indiana's weather, and the zoo was a lot of fun. Also, I got to see first hand the problems in the housing market here. In Indiana people's houses aren't priced into the stratosphere like many of the places here. For instance, I walked through an open house here in a home that maybe would have gotten 60k in Indiana, but that same house in San Diego was 1.6 million dollars. My jaw hit the floor when I saw the pricetag. I would love to live here someday, but I have a feeling that I never will and with the state going bankrupt I don't know if it would be a good idea to live here in the coming years anyway. The food is also a lot better here than it is in Indiana. I'm all about food.
Until next time....
