A middle-class father Ricardo takes his two daughters to their lakeside family house in southern Chile. Out on a yacht one day, they see three young local fishermen waving at them from another boat which is rapidly taking on water. Ricardo refuses to go and help, arguing they look suspicious, much to his older daughter's exasperation. His prejudices will be the beginning of a tense journey that will not end well.

The simplicity of the set-up allows for a tautness, wound ever tighter by a rich score from Paulo Gallo, using slippery strings goosed by flutes, and sound design from Isaac Moreno and Mauricio López that emphasises the wildness of the setting.

Way too slow. The dubbing is done by local actors who aren’t actors and for whom English is a 2nd language. The lighting is awful too- you’ll be cold looking at it.
