Audience Member Just the right level of creepiness! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member Another movie that over represents a pitiful minority attempting to dominate our culture. Keep the muslims out of America and away from our democracy. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review jean-pol c My opinion--- With: "I'll dance if I want to," Palestinian Maysaloun Hamoud filmed a movie full of life and modesty about the lives of three young Arab women in Tel Aviv. The movie is the symbolic of a generation struggling to replace the enormous taboo traditions that surround the lights of freedom, facing a conformist and intolerant society. The movie itself is a success because in addition to all the obstacles they may encounter, the movie does not fall into the disrespectful because it is filmed with heaps and feelings and the three young people interpret their role with great skill. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Goota B It is a film about modern, young Palestinian women living in Tel Aviv and their battle with their conservative, traditional, male dominated culture. It offers lots to think about. A really good film. Terrific actors. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/11/18 Full Review Audience Member One of my favorite movies. So beautifully done and the women were superb! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member I didn't see a plot line until I was well into the movie. I'd put the rape and misogynistic behavior up front and then resolve these in grained lifestyles. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Drew Gregory Autostraddle During an era where so many of us are desperately looking for comfort, I can think of no cinematic message more fitting for 2018 than this one. Dec 27, 2018 Full Review Tom Long Detroit News There are no easy resolutions here, but Hamoud makes clear that these women - troubled though they may be - will stand strong and defiant and together. Rated: A Mar 16, 2018 Full Review Pat Padua Washington Post Although "In Between" depicts a nation in crisis, it's a crisis that's viewed through the intimate lens of family dinners, where generations struggle over conflicting values. Rated: 2.5/4 Mar 14, 2018 Full Review Marya E. Gates Cool People Have Feelings, Too. (Substack) Through their romantic entanglements, family strife, and the restrictions places on them as Palestinians living in Israel, Hamoud’s film explores what it is to be a modern woman caught between many intersections of life. Feb 13, 2024 Full Review Ben Turner The Pink Lens What seems like a film of air-punching optimism actually takes a much sadder turn later. But in choosing to take a realist approach to its final act, the director has made a much better film for it. Rated: 4/5 Sep 2, 2021 Full Review David Lamble Bay Area Reporter This brave and artistic entry deserves a better fate. Jun 3, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews
