J. R. Jones Chicago Reader Adapted from a best seller by Jennifer Weiner, this tends toward petty audience manipulation, though Diaz and Collette strike sparks in the early scenes. Jun 28, 2022 Full Review Liz Moody Empire Magazine A simple yet rich drama played with humour and compassion and blessed with excellent performances. Rated: 4/5 Apr 1, 2006 Full Review Amy Simmons Time Out Considering it doesn't star Maggie Smith or Judi Dench, it's surprising how mature and moving this female-focused drama is. Feb 9, 2006 Full Review Mattie Lucas The Dispatch (Lexington, NC) A feel-good film of the highest order. Rated: 3/4 Jun 5, 2019 Full Review Felix Vasquez Jr. Cinema Crazed It's hard to believe chick flick tripe like this was even revered with critical praise, but it happened. Rated: 2/4 Apr 29, 2009 Full Review Cole Smithey ColeSmithey.com "In Her Shoes" is an unbalanced movie that teeters between saccharine fluff and preachy self-help sentiment. Emma S Great easy watch. Not a romcom but a lovely story about family Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/24 Full Review N P Even though the story may be kind of predictable, the plot did manage to surprise here and there and overall the movie just was entertaining and a perfect feel-good-movie for a sunday evening (without being too shallow). Also the cast was great, especially Shirley MacLaine! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/10/24 Full Review Marco M Touching, compelling and funny film with great performances by Diaz, Colette and especially Shirley Maclaine.
