Irresponsible party girl Maggie (Cameron Diaz) is kicked out of her father's (Ken Howard) and stepmother's (Candice Azzara) home, where she lives for free, and is taken in by her hard-working sister, Philadelphia lawyer Rose (Toni Collette). After Maggie's disruptive ways ruin her sister's love life, Rose turns her out as well. J L I love this movie...highlighting the complexities of youth and the sister relationship, this picture was a beautiful work of art, combining personal growth and the difficult lessons one must learn to bring attention to self serving behavior, the consequences of said behavior and the desire to change. The acting was superb and emotional with plenty of good laughs along the way. Truly a treasure with a touching poem that you will never forget. A must see!
