Irresponsible party girl Maggie (Cameron Diaz) is kicked out of her father's (Ken Howard) and stepmother's (Candice Azzara) home, where she lives for free, and is taken in by her hard-working sister, Philadelphia lawyer Rose (Toni Collette). Nunca he visto una película que explica lo complicada que puede ser la relación en entre hermanos tan claramente. Cómo pueden hacerse cosas horribles y, aún así, seguir amándose. La forma en la que ambas hermanas crecen en formas diferentes y procesan el trauma es tan real. La mayor tratando de proteger a la menor, las dos odiándose y amándose con la misma intensidad y la presencia de parientes escondiendo cosas de sus hijas... una familia como la tuya y la mía. Los diálogos son impecables y los sentimientos que evocan son del tipo con el que todos nos identificamos. AMO ESTA PELÍCULA.

It was somewhat funny but not enough. When it comes to the romantic part, it's kinda lacking everything tho... Although the movie is not bad at all it's just too long and this is why after watching the half of it you're losing the interest. Not the best movie about two sisters who can't get along but if you don't have nothing else to watch I think you can give it a shot. Maybe you'll enjoy it more than I did.

I love this movie...highlighting the complexities of youth and the sister relationship, this picture was a beautiful work of art, combining personal growth and the difficult lessons one must learn to bring attention to self serving behavior, the consequences of said behavior and the desire to change. The acting was superb and emotional with plenty of good laughs along the way. Truly a treasure with a touching poem that you will never forget. A must see!
