Audience Member This is a quality documentary on the battle for Jerusalem in the Six-Day War - not outstanding, but certainly not crap. It sketches in the background and buildup to the war, but it mostly focuses on the Israeli troops that did the actual fighting for Jerusalem. The filmmakers use both interviews with the soldiers and recreations to illustrate the events, such as the Battle of Ammunition Hill and the euphoria at reaching the Western Wall. One nice touch is that as the interviews with the soldiers are all English dubbed over Hebrew, they have the actors who play the soldiers providing the dubbing, helping to connect the old men being interviewed with their younger selves. The film is definitely from an Israeli perspective, and isn't trying to be anything else. Early on, the film tries to convey what the mood in Israel was in the weeks and days leading up to the war. The film could have used a bit of balance - an Arab soldier's viewpoint - and also focuses a little too narrowly on Jerusalem once the fighting starts. Expanding the film's perspective to include the Arabs (and, for that matter, the Israeli Air Force) could have upgraded this to a truly brilliant piece of documentary work. I was actually surprised to learn that the film was produced by the Christian Broadcasting Network. I was half-expecting it to be an Israeli production. Christianity gets nary a mention, although there is quite a bit of Judaism in the film. The production values are excellent, and everybody who worked on this film should be proud of their work. Thank you, CBN, for sharing the truth about the battle for Jerusalem and the heroic soldiers and their stories. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Fabulous! You must see this very moving and well done film! It makes you appreciate what the Jewish people have gone through. Peace for Jerusalem forever! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member This is not one of those"B" rated religious movies. This is a well-done piece of history. It's not propaganda as some have said. The Arab forces numbered one million and the Israel forces numbered 200,000. The Arabs lost 18,000 men and the Israel forces lost 776. It was a true miracle. The actual combatants of the war told their story and then the event was acted out by very skilled actors. It was sold out across the country and a second showing has been added June 1 --by demand Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
