Donald Clarke Irish Times It would be overstating the case to suggest that John Hume has been written out of history, but... we are beginning to lose sight of that dogged politician's contribution. Rated: 3/5 Nov 30, 2017 Full Review Peter Crawley Irish Times Mallon also affords Hume the highest praise ("I would put him in the same breath as Parnell, Daniel O'Connell.") yet it's the misgivings that complicate the portrait and so humanise him. Sep 10, 2018 Full Review John Boland Irish Independent This provided a glimpse of a more complex individual than the film was willing to countenance, and in the end we ended up knowing very little about the person it had come to praise. Aug 14, 2018 Full Review Jennie Kermode Eye for Film Packed with information and alert to the importance of details, this is an impressive example of the historical documentary art.
