Alexander Stille narrates the film based on his 1995 book of the same name, which chronicles the efforts of Italian prosecutors Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino to bring the Sicilian Mafia to justice. After years of futility, Falcone and Borsellino strike a massive blow, convicting more than 350 mafiosi. Five years later, both would die within months of each other at the hands of the mob. The film also features the gritty work of anti-Mafia photojournalist Letizia Battaglia.
