Joe Williams St. Louis Post-Dispatch There are so many levels of nostalgia piled onto Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull that it’s hard to unearth a nugget of new inspiration; but the golden oldies that are doled out should dazzle those who cheer for the familiar. Rated: B Apr 13, 2023 Full Review Paul Byrnes Sydney Morning Herald It is like seeing a dear old friend. Indiana once made us all feel we could be stronger and braver, if we tried. And he wasn't a silly modern superhero, just a guy who combined a thirst for knowledge with great courage and ingenuity. Rated: 3.5/5 Apr 12, 2023 Full Review Sukhdev Sandhu Daily Telegraph (UK) Ford himself is absolutely fine. Apr 12, 2023 Full Review Joseph Tomastik Loud and Clear Reviews Despite the film’s many poor choices that range from mildly distracting to hugely damaging, I found plenty to like in Crystal Skull, and I don’t think it completely goes against the spirit of the Indiana Jones movies Rated: 3/5 Nov 21, 2024 Full Review Andrew Collins Radio Times Though exhausting and relentless, it's hard to dislike, thanks to Ford's weary charm, his leather-jacketed new wingman Shia LaBeouf, and an emphasis on pleasingly "old school" stuntwork. Rated: 4/5 Apr 12, 2024 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy I will never understand the hatred for the refrigerator scene — it’s a marvelous set-piece and very much in the spirit of the whole franchise. You want a low point? How about Shia LaBeouf’s Mutt swinging through the trees alongside a bunch of CGI monkeys? Rated: 3/4 Jul 7, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

William B Great movie. Recommended. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/25/25 Full Review Ads T The first half of this fourth Indiana Jones outing is terrifically staged and has a real feel for the 1950s. There is one sequence when Indiana is trapped in a fake American village full of mannequins which is about to be nuked and the scene itself is one of the single most terrifying things Spielberg has ever done. The second half of the movie goes through the motions and is let down by contrived emotional connections- Indiana has a son with his old girlfriend from Raiders of the Lost Ark etc. The ancient alien element to the plot may not be to everyone's taste and probably does stretch the probability to breaking point. Then again, in the Temple of Doom, we were meant to believe that Indiana Jones and a young boy could drop from a plane clutching on to nothing more than an inflatable dinghy and land relatively safely on a mountain so, perhaps aliens and crystal skulls is not so bad! I would award this movie three stars but half a star needs to be subtracted due to the second half. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/25 Full Review Sean D This movie is over-hated in my opinion and it genuinely does a good job of reviving the Indy magic and charm. However, while this movie is worth a watch, it is not as good as the original 3 and it probably would have been better off if they ended with the first 3. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/08/25 Full Review Spike D Incredibly dated, and rather silly (but not in the good way). Rated 1 out of 5 stars 12/28/24 Full Review Obi-wan K What the fuck does aliens have to do with indiana fucking jones. Also Mid. Highground Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/19/24 Full Review Tyler S I was a fan. The thing about these Indiana Jones films is that they work fairly well by themselves. I really wish at this point, all of the Indiana Jones movies connected to reach a grander story, but they decided to keep it simple and just explore all of Indiana Jones' adventures, and I respect that. Well done. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/06/24 Full Review Read all reviews
