INFLUENCER tells the story of Madison (Emily Tennant, "Riverdale"), a popular social media influencer who is having a lonely and uneventful trip in Thailand despite what she tells her followers on Instagram. While reflecting on her boyfriend canceling the trip, she meets CW (Cassandra Naud, "See"), a fearless and enigmatic traveler who offers to take her to some of the most Instagram-worthy locations. Together they share authentic meals and drinks with locals, discussing the differences between Madison's online presence and CW's lack of one. After showing Madison all of the amazing sights, things take a different turn when CW brings her to a surprise location -- a deserted island that is completely off the grid.

It’s one thing to have a thriller with victims being poached one by one. It’s another thing to have each and every victim being as dumb as humanly possible.

Dumb. Just dumb. Dumb characters. Dumb everything. It is difficult to watch something with writing and characters so dumb. They all know something is wrong with this weird chick and yet they keep hanging out. I mean, influencers are dumb by their very nature. And the boyfriend is super dumb. It is wholly unbelievable that he could figure out how to tie his shoes let alone figure this out. Even the killer is dumb. Not sure how she was able to kill so many other than her victims all out-dumbed her. But I am the dumbest one of them all for watching this. I was sticking around to see the killer get what she deserved but that was the dumbest thing I could do. So, I was the dumb one. Oh, and the critics' ratings for this---- almost a score of 100, only proves what I have known all along, that paid professional critics are the dumbest of all. I should have been smarter and quit watching it. I hope this review saves someone else from wasting their life on this dumb waste of time from Shudder.
