Critics Consensus

Influencers is a sharper, darker, and gleefully vicious sequel that skewers hollow influencer culture with stylish carnage and delicious black humor.

A biting social commentary slasher franchise more perceptive in its critique of digital social media culture than anything else within the horror landscape right now Go to Full Review

It is a more vicious, targeted film than the original, but it also has a stunning streak of truly dark humor that’s almost Coen-esque in its slapstick bloodshed. Go to Full Review

Influencers is bigger but not always better, as it lacks the realism present in the first film, choosing instead to increase the drama and forgo answering questions. Go to Full Review

Influencers is even more dark fun than Influencer, particularly because of how it portrays identity in an increasingly volatile and devious digital world. Go to Full Review

INFLUENCERS does an excellent job of dissecting the culture, playfully mocking a generation of sometimes unbearable folks. It’s not afraid to be a bit outlandish, with the series feeling like a throwback 90s thriller in the best of ways. Go to Full Review

Tim B. @SlimTim0707 22h Influencers ramps up the gore and sexuality, while dumbing down Cassandra into a more conventional villain role than its predecessor. However even as a simpler slasher film, it still retains most of its chique with a fight scene so stylish that you half expect them to truce and start dancing instead mid battle. See more Lee B 2d Man, what a letdown. I'm a huge fan of part 1. I was like. There is no way part two will suck. Well it did. Just watch the first and pretend this does not exist. See more nilufer e @Nilicim 2d I did enjoy the first half, it was somewhat surprising and intriguing and felt a bit original but turned out to be just another slasher movie. Acting wasn't great either. See more Jackson M. @Lolimjusthere 2d The original movie is still my favorite, but that’s not to say this movie isn’t also incredible, this movie also has really good music it might not be for everyone but I thought it was good, it has great acting, and the beautiful cinematography return as well, also not to mention, there was a huge increase in blood and gore to my surprise. Overall, this movie is really really fun. See more @mhous 5d I enjoyed the first incarnation; it was straight forward and easy to watch. The sequel, although shoot in beautiful locations, just seems like it's trying a little too hard, it tries to poke some fun at itself and its characters, but the "humor" falls flat. Just OK. See more K T @KTOWN181 5d From the standpoint of visuals and production, this movie feels like an improvement over the first one. The first third is quite compelling story-wise, but generally speaking, the first one has a significantly more sound narrative structure. That's the biggest problem with this sequel: it falls apart in the third act and just becomes a free-for-all. I defy anyone to explain to me, logically speaking, the actions that took place in the final scene, other than just... bloodletting for the sake of it. Cassandra Naud has one heck of a figure (watch for the overhead shot at the pool party). I can't give this one as strong a recommend as the first one. So if you're looking to kill time, skip this one, just watch the first one. P.S. Props to Whitesell for effectively playing a megachad. See more Read all reviews
