V.A. Musetto New York Post The racing scenes are well done; unfortunately, they're too often interrupted by a clich-filled story about one-note characters. Rated: 1/4 Jan 3, 2006 Full Review Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times Based on a popular Japanese comic-book series, Initial D is a slick but silly affair unlikely to appeal to anyone over the age of 15. Rated: 2/5 Jan 3, 2006 Full Review R. Emmet Sweeney Village Voice Alas, the story keeps interrupting with gobs of expectorated exposition, paving the way for the inevitable sequels to come. shane w This movie is awesome. Does it follow the manga. Not entirely. Its a live action movie though and it was put together very well. I only wish there was a sequel or two to continue the story. Hands down outpaces the fast and furious franchise and comes in right behind 2014 need for speed at number 1 on my car movie list. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/24/24 Full Review Daichi K 原作とストーリーは違うものの、これはこれでかなりいい Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/12/24 Full Review Katherine C Captures the essence of street racing and Japanese culture. Furthermore, you can delve deeply into each character's backstory; it's enjoyable. Undoubtedly, a cinematic gem that every car enthusiast will enjoy. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/15/23 Full Review Paolo P A good adaptation of the original work. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/24/23 Full Review FReeinko - For the time when they created it it was awesome. The animation was abit off but since it's older I'll give it a break in this regard. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/06/23 Full Review Rem - Definitely so easy to misunderstood, doesn't explain character relationship deeply, so many cliffhanger for character, and specially the main character is just so difficult to understand, story is easy to follow from early minutes but once the last race starts it's just badly shown and definitely not a good ending, the way it ended is just so bad and easily to misunderstood, not recommended to watch anime/ manga is better as it explains more to what the series contain Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/02/23 Full Review Read all reviews
