Keith Uhlich Time Out It’s fun to watch the bastards squirm. Yet the film doesn’t follow through on the righteous indignation it stirs up. Rated: 3/5 Dec 18, 2022 Full Review Vadim Rizov Sight & Sound Inside Job is far more watchable than it should be. Mar 1, 2011 Full Review Philip French Guardian I've only scratched the surface of this intelligent, riveting and informative film, which I cannot commend too highly. Feb 22, 2011 Full Review Michael Leader Den of Geek Both informative and bleak. Rated: 4/5 May 7, 2024 Full Review Joanne Laurier World Socialist Web Site Inside Job by American documentarian Charles Ferguson (No End In Sight) is a valuable, detailed account of the global financial meltdown in September 2008. Mar 1, 2021 Full Review Rocco T. Thompson Screen Rant Pragmatic and infuriating, Inside Job shows how our financial system falls apart when the ruling class is allowed to steamroll over the little guy in the name of wealth and capital. John S I find it ironic that Matt Damon is the moderator of this documentary as he has been a paid spokesman for the Crypto industry, which will be remembered as the biggest seller of hot air (and scam) in the 21st Century. Matt, did you really have to prostitute yourself to Crypto? Haven't you made enough in movies? This documentary is well-researched, bringing forth data that is not easily collected. Though its message is that Wall Street was responsible for the 2008 financial crisis, it neglects to mention the role of consumers in creating that crisis. Consumers did not resist the enticements of borrowing large amounts not only in mortgages, but also credit cards, auto loans, student loans, etc. I continue to be amazed that S&P and Moody's rating agencies as well as the accounting firms emerged unscathed - they were the ones who said "AAA" (or at least A2) and signed off on financials without a note of caution. Something is wrong if they do not have to pay for their mistakes. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/26/24 Full Review S P One can argue of the prism taken to make this documentary, but the facts and events presented allow for a clear and understandable view of the cause of the 2008 market crash. This is the best well rounded doc on the events and causes of the crash. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/03/24 Full Review Jon G A great documentary on the 2008 financial crisis. T shows deregulation never works. Our country is a plutocracy. I like to think things will get better. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/16/24 Full Review Audience Member Interesting movie to watch. Finance is boring, but to watch the extent of the conflicts of interest, between the people in a position of trust such as economics teachers at the most respected business colleges in America, and the lack of culpability towards admitting that they themselves make a the majority of their living off misleading people into financial disarray is disgusting. It's an important watch to see through some of the veils of bs that the American financial sector continues to project. I spent more time cringing at the interviewer's queries than engaged in the content." Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/21/24 Full Review Shael A real slice of life with the tragic details of recession brought on by human decisions. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/26/23 Full Review Read all reviews
