Suffering from agoraphobia, New Yorker Jimmy Morgan (Elliott Gould) leads a life of near-solitude in his apartment, but he finds plenty of ways to get by without stepping foot onto the city streets below, including home deliveries, call girls and house calls. However, Morgan's regular visitors -- friend Jack (Howard Hesseman) and prostitute Amy (Jennifer Tilly) -- recognize his problem and push for his recovery. Morgan instead spirals into self-destructive behavior but soon must face his phobia.

Walter Goodman New York Times ... slogs from disaster to ordained disaster to a disastrously soggy ending, with dialogue as bankrupt as Jimmy's business and as ungiving as his bookie. Jan 9, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member dumb movie with boring characters Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the Best gambling movies ever made. If you're a gambler, you can relate. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Man (Elliot Gould) can only live inside his elegant apartment. At first this one is intriguing, but an entire film of this is too much to endure. Slowly, we find this man has a medical problem, a phobia, about leaving his apartment. But he also has a gambling addiction to the point of his destruction. Elliot Gould is wealthy, but stops going to his office and prefers living at home, constantly. Call girls satisfy his romantic needs, barbers make house calls as well. Were it not for the comedic talents of Gould, this could be unbearable. But it IS Gould in this fairly interesting tale of a man coping with his reality and mental illness. A truely unconventional plot filmed in conventional ways. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/1035785-inside_out/trailers/10897726 see the trailer above as it makes the movie more interesting than it might appear to you or me. Still, it may work for you as an 80% or even a 100% if you are into this sort of thing. I don't recommend it. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member I should really watch the whole movie, but I just get so bored when Gould is sitting at home doing nothing for like the first half of the movie. When does he do something? Where's the drama in this movie? Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews
