Mike P The original title of this was infact, "Intimate Agony: The Herpes Story". No joke. It's funny, but the plot here; about a sea side resort for young single people suddenly having an epidemic of herpes attack the population there; is the same plot as The Howling... If you think about it. Except instead of getting herpes; in the Howling they all became werewolves... (And ironically; that movie was more plausible than this movie...) And I mean, talk about garbage. I mean, this is more like a health class lecture or an educational video than a movie. Written with the most pedestrian; generic; tv soap opera type dialogue: and the laziest acting...(Besides the always amazing Judith Light ..Who would make fun of this movie in future interviews). It was just like the old television networks to always travel down the straight and narrow; doing the safest routes possible in terms of TV programming; except when it was sweeps; and then they would trot out trash like this. I don't mind that they attacked risque subjects; but couldn't they utilize better writing and talent when they're doing that? Instead of using insipid trash dialogue and plots like this? Couldn't the networks see that it was loftier to do a Hill Street Blues Episode about LaRue having queasy worries about the recriminations of a one-night-stand; than airing this kind of exploitative soap opera garbage? I'm sorry but, thumbs wayyy down on this one. 👎 This only works as camp; not as a legit social-issue dramatic program. So don't watch this; just see your doctor and maybe just get some Herpecin L if you have to... NOT RECOMMENDED!! Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/24 Full Review Matthew D Made for TV drama is overlong, but watchable. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/15/20 Full Review Audience Member Anthony Geary, Judith Light and Mark Harmon (with a great mustache) star in a "Jaws" ripoff with herpes standing in as the shark. It's exactly what that sounds like. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
