Serviceable but underwhelming, this murder mystery is very old-school in every way, reminiscent of many an Agatha Christie page-turner and even more so of Christie’s innumerable imitators. Go to Full Review

While not all that memorable, Invitation to a Murder is fun enough that mystery fans (especially Agatha Christie fans) are bound to have a good time, with its inviting visuals, likable cast, and entertaining set of characters. Go to Full Review

Invitation to a Murder definitely pushes the limits of suspension of disbelief, and some of the characters -- mystery archetypes all -- skirt dangerously close into cliches and stereotyping, but it doesn't quite get cross over. Go to Full Review

Mischa Barton plays the sleuthing Miranda as a woman who has just found a purpose in her life, a moment when her natural bent toward close observation and analytical talents point her toward her future. ... A pleasant, enjoyable murder mystery. Go to Full Review

James M @jamesgmock 1d to be honest I couldn't force myself to watch it again, but IIRC there is a MAJOR issue with the timeline. Sean AKA Finley is unknown to be Finley by anyone but the staff until after he is already dead. Our heroine finds the room with the pictures, as he is being murdered by Donald. The dog is brought in after Finley is dead as the big reveal of "meet mr Finley". So... why does Donald, kill Sean ? He is not aware of his real identity until AFTER the murder. Am I remembering wrong ? See more Stephanie O @soldie 3d Oh god. I love a campy mystery but they can’t possibly be serious with this. See more Thomas H. @Fr8ght_Trian Jan 20 An Agatha Christie clone that spends most of the run time running in circles. The conversation and accusations go round and round like a carousel until the killer is revealed and explains why they did it. See more Patricia R @Patree27 Jan 17 What really put me off was the debit/credit card payment in the book shop within minutes of the film starting! This was supposed to be the 1930's! See more Addilyn S @Ajoyslink Jan 6 The plot was mediocre at best but the acting was terrible. The actors were unable to convey any sort of emotion. Do not waste the hour and a half of your life. It seemed like a poor Agatha Christie copy. See more Mcj @Mcjoan Jan 6 All the actors where American or Canadian. Only 2 British actors. Why get American actors. To play British characters. When there are plenty of British actors. I could tell straight away the American actors playing British characters weren't British. What about the rabbits what that about. Basically trying to be an Agatha Christie plot but falling!! See more Read all reviews
