Leslie Felperin Guardian Serviceable but underwhelming, this murder mystery is very old-school in every way, reminiscent of many an Agatha Christie page-turner and even more so of Christie’s innumerable imitators. Rated: 2/5 Dec 24, 2024 Full Review Joey Rambles Cultured Vultures While not all that memorable, Invitation to a Murder is fun enough that mystery fans (especially Agatha Christie fans) are bound to have a good time, with its inviting visuals, likable cast, and entertaining set of characters. Rated: 6.5/10 Apr 26, 2023 Full Review Brian Costello Common Sense Media Invitation to a Murder definitely pushes the limits of suspension of disbelief, and some of the characters -- mystery archetypes all -- skirt dangerously close into cliches and stereotyping, but it doesn't quite get cross over. Rated: 3/5 Apr 25, 2023 Full Review Peter Martin ScreenAnarchy Mischa Barton plays the sleuthing Miranda as a woman who has just found a purpose in her life, a moment when her natural bent toward close observation and analytical talents point her toward her future. ... A pleasant, enjoyable murder mystery. Apr 24, 2023 Full Review Josh Bell Crooked Marquee Barton struggles through far too many Poirotian expository speeches as she ploddingly puts together clues and ferrets out the murderer. Hessel T Horrible movie. Bad cast. What were the rabbits for? Story does not make sense. Big reveal is completely underwhelming and given freely by the prime suspect without any hints earlier on in the movie. What were the rabbits for? Dialogue is too forced and the main character speaks as if written by someone who has read a book about autistic savants. What were the rabbits for??? Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/25 Full Review Mark B Yea it was not good. Pretty boring and the big reveal was ……..ok … don’t care but ok. Script is as not engaging and the characters. It well developed. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/18/25 Full Review becky p Absolutely awful imitation of various Agatha Christie adaptations (Herucle Poirots Christmas/ And then there were none etc) and a truly terrible lead character. Her "acting" was the worst part for me. She couldn't make up her mind what her accent was supposed to be and she couldn't carry off " the posh girl" one she plumped for in the end. Don't waste your time or money. I'd give this one a miss if I could time travel. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/25 Full Review Ronald L This movie was horrible. To think that I was trying to save it to watch with my kids - thinking that we could have some fun time of doing a who dunnit. So many areas that are wrong.. where can I start. The main character was so obnoxious that we just hated her from the start.. she would cut other characters off just to show how good she is at spotting a lie. Being someone so obtuse, when she saw blood on another character, she would just totally stay quiet. The plot makes no sense.. the excuse of needing to rush to the island because of the unpredictability of the weather shows their boat gliding over very calm waters. When they discover the 'murder' no one decided that to call the police or wanting to leave. So many mistakes were made that obviously anyone with half a mind would not have done. Overall, it makes me mad that i wasted my time watching this movie that I wish I could get back. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/25 Full Review Carlo C Misterio al más puro estilo de Agatha Christie, ambientado al estilo del clásico juego de mesa Clue; aunque al final resulta predecible y algo insípido. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/25 Full Review Audience Member It's ok. The plot was fairly good but the dialog was stiff and forced. The acting wasn't bad and the scenery seemed accurate. Overall, I give it a 65. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/17/25 Full Review Read all reviews
