Through the eyes of a strong-willed woman comes the remarkable true story of Irena Gut Opdyke and the triumphs of the human spirit over devastating tragedy. 19-year-old Irena Gut is promoted to housekeeper in the home of a highly respected Nazi officer when she finds out that the Jewish ghetto is about to be liquidated. Determined to help twelve Jewish workers, she decides to shelter them in the safest place she can think of: the basement of the German commandant's house. Over the next two years, Irena uses her wit, humor, and courage to hide her friends until the end of the German occupation, concealing them in the midst of countless Nazi parties, a blackmail scheme, and even the birth of a child. Her story is one of the most inspiring of our time.

An extremely heroic view of the humanity of those who helped during the Holocaust. I wish they remembered their past experiences as they kill the people whose land was stolen to accommodate them.

There are many movies about the Holocaust and this is one of the best. It is good to know that there were brave individuals, good people, who risked their lives to save others. I hope it never happens again, but we must all step up to nip it in the bud before it is too late.

Very disturbing 😕 I watched part of it and shut it off. Why do we need to see a baby being stomped to death. It should be taken down.

really good movie and makes me appreciate even the smallest things i have but i wish someone would make things more realistic in these kind of movies as in, their clothes, no wrinkles and they're all clean and ironed-hair clean, etc.
