Synopsis
In 1920s New Zealand, poet Iris Wilkinson (Helen Morse) overcomes a difficult childhood to emerge as a leading literary figure in her country. Notorious for trailblazing nonconformity and sexual freedom during her young adult years, Wilkinson becomes increasingly tormented in her personal life and thus descends into mental illness and drug abuse. In the final years of her life, Dr. Tothill (Philip Holder) becomes her trusted confidant and adviser.
