Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Almost already a Swedish classic. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member I hadn't seen any swedish comedy till this one and I thought it was well achived, natural, easy and sympathic humor; you can relate to Roro and Mans complications of life. All the situations are presented with grace and respect to the viewer, yet they managed to make you laugh for an hour and a half. I really enjoyed it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member A swedish movie about a swedish guy who can't get an erection and an arabic guy who's in love with a swedish girl, but sadly is planned to marry an arabic one. Good, but not great. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Deception (2008) 3.5/10 :rotten: : Insipid, insulting, and ineffective. Everything about this flick is by the numbers and completely lacks any kind of identity of its own. Not even Maggie Q in sheer black lingerie can save this dull nonsense. Harry - He's Here To Help :fresh: 7.5/10 Clumsy title notwithstanding, this is a rather competent, well put together French piece of Hitchcock inspired thriller. Troubled language teacher Michel runs into an old schoolmate Harold, who seems to have something of an obsession with Michel's old teenage creative writings. Harold, and his fiance Plum, meet Michel's wife Diane and their three children and there forms something of a slightly uneasy friendship of the moment. Then Harold decides it's time to help Michel find a happier life in which he can return to his writing... Marred slightly by being a tad drawn out - the pacing a little off - and a lack of perhaps any real suspense per se, Harry succeeds through the nicely built atmosphere, and the credibility leant by the very real characters inhabiting this little part of France. Jalla! Jalla! :fresh: 7.0/10 Roro, from a Lebanese immigrant family in Sweden, is badgered into marrying a Lebanese girl but he really loves his delightful Swedish girlfriend Lisa. Throw in an impotent best friend, a somewhat pointless deaf mute, and some weird stuff about dogs' bollocks, and you have Jalla! Jalla! (aka, apparently, The Best Man's Wedding). This isn't high art. It isn't deep. And it isn't terribly insightful - going lightly over the immigrant culture difference theme once more. But it is funny, occasionally truly hilarious, and - just like Lisa - rather delightful. No beer necessary, but you might want to bring along your significant other... Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member laughed all the way until the end. silly, but nice Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Ray Conlogue Globe and Mail It's a first feature from a young director, and still has a bit of film-school gawkiness about it. But there's talent here, and probably better films to come. Rated: 2/4 May 3, 2002 Full Review Jason Gorber Film Scouts A warm, sweet Swedish romantic comedy about culture shock in Scandanavia. Rated: B Jun 21, 2007 Full Review Eric Henderson City Pages, Minneapolis/St. Paul Or, as more than a few IMDB reviewers have hinted: My Big Fat Swedish Wedding. Jul 18, 2004 Full Review Chris Hewitt St. Paul Pioneer Press Unlike many broad comedies, Jalla! Jalla! has real affection for its characters and that makes it a winner. Rated: 3/4 Jul 15, 2004 Full Review Urban Cinefile Critics Urban Cinefile A warm and funny buddy movie about relationships, sex and weddings - in that order. The performances are wonderful, and are played as straight as an arrow. Nov 16, 2002 Full Review Derek Tse Jam! Movies While the meandering story is coherently told, it labours under a dual storyline that tells completely different stories until they're tied together fairly unconvincingly at the end.
