More slow-motion explosions and a completely generic escort mission," then congratulations. Someone in a boardroom heard your prayers and answered them with Jarhead 2: Field of Fire. The "Sequel" Logic The original Jarhead was a film famous for having almost no combat. It was about the psychological toll of waiting to kill, the impotence of a rifle that never fires, and the absurdity of being a highly trained weapon in a war fought by airstrikes. Jarhead 2, in a stroke of genius marketing, decides the best way to honor that legacy is to ignore it entirely. It is a direct-to-video action flick that contains roughly 90 minutes of people shooting guns, yelling "Oorah," and doing slow-motion heroic walks away from burning vehicles. It is the cinematic equivalent of adapting Animal Farm into a petting zoo guidebook. 0.5 out of 5 crayons.
