01/19/2014 Magical, atmospheric and funny. See more 08/12/2009 From Jan Jakub Kolski, responsible for an almost Spielbergian adaptation of Gombrowicz Pornografia, comes this oddity about fragrant monks and lost love. Kolski uses the same faded colour palette as in Pornografia, with added explosions of pastel, to create a dreamlike atmosphere. The narrative, told from a child's perspective, reads like a fairytale and lends the movie a heavy symbolic air, but ends up being far too convoluted for it's own good. See more 12/14/2008 this is frankly the best polish picture, that can be watched and enjoyed by people of all age, sex, political views and iq, for many years and that at the same time is not a romantic comedy crap. no special effects, small budget and yet fantastic and very, i think, warm story and funny by the way :) for anyone who want to get in touch with what's best about polish cinema[tography] i recomend Anrdzej's Jakimowski images: Zmróż Oczy [Squint your eyesy] and Sztuczki [Tricks], latter will be easier to fing around as it's from 2007. good luck ;] See more 10/26/2008 One of the best Polish movies ever.
