David Jenkins Time Out There's no denying that this is a single-note film, but it's a note of considerable emotional clout. Rated: 4/5 Sep 18, 2009 Full Review Wendy Ide Times (UK) Not quite a documentary, nor yet entirely fiction, Je Veux Voir is an awkward blend. But it's not nearly as awkward as Catherine Deneuve in the central role. Rated: 2/5 Sep 18, 2009 Full Review Peter Bradshaw Guardian A potent and intriguing cinema of ideas. Rated: 4/5 Sep 18, 2009 Full Review David Walsh World Socialist Web Site The strongest moment in I Want to See ... comes early in the film. Catherine Deneuve ... is in Beirut for an industry event of some kind. Feb 13, 2021 Full Review Jon Fortgang Film4 An unconventional yet haunting documentary that shines a strange new light on life in modern Lebanon. Rated: 3.5/5 Sep 18, 2009 Full Review Rob Daniel Sky Cinema Whatever the meaning, or lack of meaning, occasionally powerful images sock you between the eyes. Audience Member Deneuve took you to Beirut, Lebanon. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member A wobbly cinema và (C)rità (C) romp through south Lebanon with an awkward Catherine Deneuve. She has her characteristic bored & puzzled expression throughout the whole trip. She doesn't say much aside from commenting on the lack of seatbelt legislation in Lebanon. What's the point? Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member the film tries to get somewhere and doesn't ever reach Or its way too arty for me to get ! Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Excellent story of the everyday life in Beirut and its whereabouts. Watch for the amazing Lebanon country sightseeings. Deneuve is perfect, as usual. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member vu au Cratere le dimanche 15 fevrier 2009 vers 19h Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member idee interessante, contexte a priori porteur, acteurs excellents mais film un peu trop contemplatif malheureusement... bref une tres bonne idee pas completement poussee a son maximum...
