Lisa Kennedy Out Magazine It's unlikely you'll leave the theater humming any melodies, but you will leave with certain scenes etched into memory -- including Jeanne's hurrying, late as always, to the chapel. Audience Member Despite Miss Ledoyen's efforts, the songs she sang just never integrated into the plot, especially when it is about a serious and saddening subject. Honestly, I have never cared about how will they end up with. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Pourtant pas tres fan de Ledoyen, j'ai beaucoup aimé cette ersatz de comedie musicale sur fond de sida. Mathieu Demy est tres touchant. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member A serious (even sad) story wrapped up with songs & dances- though some of which not really helping the story to move. A bit hollow, not impressive enough. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member A bit of a misfire but still a poignant musical featuring the always brilliant Virginie Ledoyen in the title role. Some songs work well but due to the subject matter (AIDS) some just come out too over dramatic and flat. Notable is the performance of Matthieu Demy the son of French director Jacques Demy who knew a thing or two about making musicals (The Umbrellas of Cherbourg) Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member A strange little French film. The plot is pretty weak and and doesn't really go a anywhere. That's the only reason I can think of for the eclectic musical numbers throughout. The songs are intriguing and quite cheesy, but they are sometimes fun and help lighten up the film. The colors are beautiful and the lead actress stunning. It's worth a look if you're looking for something out of the ordinary and different, but certainly not a great film.
