Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times This kind of movie, the slapstick, anything-goes satire, is getting awfully old very fast. Rated: 1/4 May 8, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

Stu M This movie took me by surprise.... A coworker recommended it, and I had no idea what I was in for... Witty comedy with catch phrases left and right! Memorable characters down to the sushi makers and the owner of the hotel. Definitely not kid friendly! But I consider this one of my favorite movies of all time now. I only saw it a year ago for the first time. Don't sleep on this one! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/24/24 Full Review Donny C I really loved this film when I first saw it in 1983(Wow.. 40 years ago now!) I turned many of my friends onto it and even my parents . Blankfield was hilarious as the lead and I can't believe he didn't become a huge comedy star from this great vehicle. Over the years all I ever have to say to my brother is "Pearl Harbor, Buddy!" or "RAPE!.. maybe later if I have time!" and we both crack up and remember this movie vividly! Sure some of the content is dated and possibly frowned upon in the current cultural climate but it really is a funny flick from start to finish. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/03/23 Full Review bernie h Great comedy. From 70s 80s era late night shows like sctv, in living color and early Saturday night live and TGIF . Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I am a huge fan of The strange case of Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and I have seen around twenty films adaptation in my life but this is the best. Is so irreverant, comical, my god I laughed for the first time in more then four months looking at it. The movie is also self conscious about itself, with the final scene of Robert Louis Stevenson rolling on his grave. I really adored every second of it and I will definetly keep on DVD for watching it whenever I like. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I luv'd this movie when I first saw it in the '80's!!! It was beyond hip. Cocaine is a terrible drug. "Madame Wu-Wu's is ashamed to present..." This movie made me fall in love with Bess Armstrong. Krista Ericcson was the most attractive woman I had ever seen. And, Mark Blankfield... he was a God-send. I didn't know that people (actors) could do the things he did in this movie. And the song... in fact the whole Putzpuller Award Ceremony scene... classic. I watch it over and over on you**** (er, I mean, ***tube). Seriously, I'm glad Mark Blankfield didn't make it big in movies, he was a fiery comet destined to burn out on Saved by the Bell (btw - he was the best thing on Saved by the Bell; him and Lisa Turtle anyways). Thank you for reading! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member They won't even try to make comedy like this anymore. Up there with Blazing Saddles on how to offend people. I prob would have fave it a 4 if it had the budget and a star cast like Blazing Saddles; but this movie was able to pull of as many belly laughs with many nobody actors and a small budget. Worth buying on a streaming service. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews
