Daniel Neman St. Louis Post-Dispatch Though you may be tempted, do not run screaming from "Jeremiah Tower: The Last Magnificent" after the first two minutes. Rated: 3/4 Jun 8, 2017 Full Review Bill Goodykoontz Arizona Republic Like his restaurants, the film is carried by Tower's personality and vision. Even if you're not into food, it's a fascinating look at a seminal moment in American cuisine, and the man who helped bring it about. Rated: 3.5/5 May 19, 2017 Full Review Kimberley Jones Austin Chronicle The Tavern footage is terrific stuff - unstaged and unmediated and the closest the camera gets to penetrating the enigmatic yet magnetic chef. Rated: 3/5 May 18, 2017 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com It's a reminder, not so gentle, that even the most well known celebrities are human beings. Rated: 3.0/4.0 Sep 12, 2020 Full Review Steven Prokopy Third Coast Review Above all else, The Last Magnificent captures the passion with which Tower operates every corner of his life, even when he's mostly sitting still. May 6, 2020 Full Review M.V. Moorhead Phoenix Magazine Other than in the broadest possible terms, I'm not sure we're given a clear sense of what makes Tower tick... But the movie is still watchable and amusing. Jan 7, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member You walk in to a new restaurant, drawn in by its intriguing sights and smells. There is promise of an elegant story. And then the primary ingredient turns into a tempest..sometimes charming, sometimes sad, sometimes arrogant and sometimes indecipherable.. You get served some snacks, some tapas, something from the breakfast menu and something from the bar...And then it all ends. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member Interesting doc about one of the OG celebrity chefs. Enjoyed hearing his story and learning about the impact that he has had on the industry. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Too damn reverential. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member An interesting look at a famous chef whom I have never heard of. It’s crazy to think that this one man started a big food/dining shift in experience. A cool documentary worth watching. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member A rich kid, whose poor soul had to suffer by eating great great meals by himself at fine hotels, was exposed to every situation that would provide him with the opportunity to become a great chef. Boo hoo. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member We enjoyed this documentary very much. It told the Chef's story very well. We wondered: Why did he accept the job at Tavern on the Green when his pattern was to succeed only when he was totally in charge? Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Read all reviews
