John Doyle Globe and Mail A madcap, crazily inventive production of the musical, it's a marvellous, dizzying two hours. Apr 10, 2020 Full Review Matt Zoller Seitz New York Magazine/Vulture This Superstar was the closest that live television has come to creating a hybrid new form, combining elements of epic cinema, the stage musical, and the concert film. It's a minor miracle. Sep 19, 2018 Full Review Matthew J. Palm Orlando Sentinel Buoyed by that striking production with its industrial, modern urban vibe and a star-making performance by Brandon Victor Dixon as Judas, "Jesus Christ Superstar" provided plenty of thrills for musical-theater fans. Sep 19, 2018 Full Review Joshua Rivera GQ Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert proved just how freaking good a live TV musical can be when it's firing on all cylinders. Aug 6, 2018 Full Review Emily Ashby Common Sense Media Masterful performances impress in modernized rock opera. Rated: 4/5 Apr 10, 2018 Full Review Mark A. Perigard Boston Herald The ensemble players were the unsung heroes of the night, throwing themselves into every exhausting, frenetic number. Apr 3, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews

Tom M Gives a new touch to the classic. Was well produced. John legend is great. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/24 Full Review Kathryn P Easily the best production of this. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/24 Full Review Ed I'm not quite sure why I watched this, I'm not even that religious. I was hoping to learn a bit more about Judas because I feel like the motivation for his betrayal would be very interesting. Unfortunately, it seemed more geared towards people who already know the story, which made me a little confused at times. I do have to say though, the music is pretty good and I appreciate the diverse cast. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/22/23 Full Review Audience Member John Legend can't act and doesn't have the voice for jesus and Alice Cooper is horrible. Other than that every one else is great but it's not enough to save the production when jesus is bad. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Fantastic casting. The costumes were impeccable as well as the set design. Really great. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member To me it was a mockery of what happened and it's not worth the time to watch the only thing I liked was the fact that they had great singers. But they left out so much of what really happened. So disappointed. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews
