Kay A Saw the movie at a Zurich festival with a smart new sound track. The images of the villages and Odessa in 1924 are instructive of the utter poverty of the bulk of the shtetl populations. A dream sequence exports dozen of yewish brides to the US from Odessa. The famous stairs are crucial here as well. The hero is helping his sidekick to get his bride, but he remains empty handed at the end, but still full of energy. The acting is good.
