Li N @Angzarr Jan 19 incoherent story and low performance by the actors See more Rahn K @Stanza Dec 23 Possibly one of the worst films of all time. Anti woke xmas film where a right wing nutjob, trashman, decides to steals stuff in order to become a… ‘Robbing Hood’ socialist? 🤔 Do yourself a favour and don’t watch this seriously bizarre film. See more Fern R @FernHollow Dec 21 Every year we have an annual bad Christmas movie competition. This was my submission, and it’s definitely a strong contender. My hollies are unjollied. My bells are severely unjingled. Christmas is canceled. It certainly has a "Tubi classic" vibe to it, from the acting to the attempt at comedy, to the rather jarring camera work. I do not believe the writers have ever actually talked to someone with more "liberal" views before. There is a rather unintentionally terrifying moment that I think was supposed to be fun and wholesome where a pair of twin children appear out of nowhere, posing as elves and speaking in unison. There is a rather massive plot hole, leaving viewers questioning "why do the villains of this story even care if the toys weren’t thrown away". I can only hope that, since at this time, this movie has no reviews, that the writers will see this review and hopefully never write another movie again. See more Chara R. @SerrahQuill Dec 21 A rough ride from start to finish. It is shot without understanding how to tell a story with camera work. Editing choices were bizarre when on the rare occasions that they were intentional. This leads to stale scenes that become randomly jarring. One such example is in the board room when the CeO is arguing with his workers? executives? Subordinates seems to be the best descriptor considering the adversarial relationship he has with them. Amidst their debate over their failing toy line, a haphazard zoom in on the subordinate who gives rebuttal to his boss cuts the actor's scalp out of the frame. Oh and the inspired directing and acting choices were certainly choices. I had never seen a brick weep, and I still haven't after the stony performance from the protagonist's LITERAL come to Jesus moment. The attempt at a tender scene talking about experiences in war and vulnerabilities is suddenly undercut by jump scare with two twin girls. This was shortly followed by all the nuance around the Santa Claus figure being tossed out the window, along with the message of the biblical lesson he gave. However, I would be lying if I said this movie was wholly devoid of charm. There was a running gag where the last 10-15 seconds of an old Christmas movie played in the background before The End would go across the screen and a ridiculously bad movie title was revealed to the audience. I loved that unironically. Between the attempted sly winks around the politics of the time, and a muddled sense of humor in general, this movie provides the viewer with an ultimately regrettable experience. The tale of this stinky folk hero is certainly one of the stories of all time. See more Read all reviews
