In the 15th century, Joan of Arc, still a teenager, makes connections with royalty and leads the French army into battle against the English. As her victories and legend continue to grow, the last two years of Joan's life are soon marked by vulnerability and despair.

Susan Sontag Artforum A masterpiece. Rivette, alone among the great filmmakers of his generation, has not changed or lowered his sights. Sandrine Bonnaire isn’t Falconetti, but she is Joan of Arc. May 2, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Korben D This version of Joan of Arc might check all the historical boxes, but wow — it’s seriously the most boring version you’ll ever see. The actors deliver their lines like they're reading from a textbook, and there’s just no passion behind it. It drags on way too long, and by the end, you’re more focused on the clock than the story. It could have been a powerful, emotional film, but instead it feels more like a history lesson you didn’t ask for. Definitely had potential, just needed way more spark.
