Retired super-assassin John Wick's plans to resume a quiet civilian life are cut short when Italian gangster Santino D'Antonio shows up on his doorstep with a gold marker, compelling him to repay past favors. John Wick: Chapter 2 takes everything that worked in the first film and expands it with confidence. The action is bigger, but it remains clean and readable; standout sequences like the Rome catacombs gunfight and the mirror-filled museum finale emphasize precision, timing, and spatial awareness rather than chaos. Every confrontation feels choreographed with intent. The film deepens the mythology without overexplaining it. The rules of the assassin world are tested and enforced, particularly through the consequences Wick faces after violating Continental law. The use of markers, expanded Continental operations, and global settings reinforce that this is a system built on order, not just violence. What makes Chapter 2 effective is its commitment to escalation with consequences. Wick isn’t glorified as unstoppable; every choice tightens the noose. It’s a sharper, more ambitious sequel that respects its own rules while pushing the series into a darker, more expansive direction.

I'm baffled that after 70 reviews on rotten tomatoes, i never rated one of the best movies to ever exist in the history of cinema! John Wick is a movie that shows what professionalism in movie making - actually means. Done correctly, keeping the viewer engaged. Characters are colorful, action scenes are interesting, story is deep.
