Jesse S This is easily a quotable classic over the years and is one of the best films from 2002 and deserves to be praised by everyone who gives a second chance and have mercy. 10/10 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/06/24 Full Review Savannah W Truly A VeggieTales Classic Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/08/23 Full Review Alex, G A great VeggieTales movie straight from the Bible! Hallelujah! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/27/23 Full Review jacob b While it does feel like an extended episode of VeggieTales at times (which, in some respects, it is since it was originally meant to be a 45-minute special), Jonah is a delightful Christian film with animation that, while by no means Pixar quality, has aged surprisingly well for 2002 on a much smaller budget than Ice Age (having pre-existing character models to use for reference probably helps coupled with the fact that the lighting animators were brought over from the aforementioned Ice Age and Jimmy Neutron though the animals' cheap-looking character models are where it shows its age), fun songs, better jokes than most of the animated films from the mid-2000's targeted towards older audiences than VeggieTales in their misguided attempt to ride off of Shrek's coattails and sending good messages to its target audience about compassion. All in all, an enjoyable film that remains faithful to the VeggieTales spirit that the entire family can have a good time with, even if this is your first exposure to the IP outside of Jimmy Davis YTPs.
