Roger Moore Movie Nation A deadpan "fish out of water" comedy that has a script but rarely seems like it. Rated: 2.5/4 Jan 25, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews

rosadobber a So, a couple French losers stay with one's expat dad in Greenland. Kill some animals and learn a little Inuit. This is comedy? Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/03/24 Full Review isla s I really enjoyed this film - its very much community centered, even though the community is what we might think of as a somewhat isolated one, being set in a relatively remote small village in Greenland. The local people seem bizarre to start with but they take the two men in and slowly they learn about their ways, share some of their superstitions and customs and the like. Its a slightly quirky watch, with some funny moments and some nice scenic shots. I did think it was a bit heartwarming at times. I liked the dialogue, seeing how the friends open up to each other about personal issues, what they make of certain things and so on. Its not constantly laugh out loud funny but it is certainly amusing at times and I did enjoy it, so I'd say its a good film about a close knit community and friendship. Also, I felt nostalgic watching one scene in which an old fashioned modem attempts to connect to the internet - a real throwback to the 1990s, that loud shrieky noise of a modem trying to connect. I would recommend this to fans of world cinema, as its a French film. Also, I should perhaps point out that it does include a scene of animal butchery, which may offend or upset some people, so keep that in mind. It carries a 12 rating due to this and some instances of strong language. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I can’t say it’s a particularly GOOD film - there’s nothing special about the direction, the story arc doesn’t go anywhere in particular, and neither we nor any of the characters learn much along the way - BUT…I still kind of liked it. It had a laid-back charm to it, and the location and culture of the village in Greenland was just fascinating. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/11/21 Full Review Read all reviews
