May 17, 2023 Full Review Becca James Chicago Reader Stirring, essential, and sincere, Judy Blume Forever is just as enjoyable as Blume’s oeuvre has always been and will always be. Apr 28, 2023 Full Review Sa'iyda Shabazz Autostraddle Not only does it capture Judy Blume the woman, but it does an excellent job of capturing the impact she’s had on children’s literature over the last 50 years. Apr 25, 2023 Full Review Sarah Vincent Cambridge Day Blume’s reflections on Reagan-era attempts to ban her books feel hauntingly like the current culture wars Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is waging in the public education system and with Disney. Melissa B Loved learning more about Judy Blume. This film reinforced my love for all books, but especially hers! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/25/24 Full Review dave d The inventor, essentially, of YA fiction is Judy Blume. As an author she is a genius. As a documentary film that chronicles her life, this isn't nearly as good as her books, but will likely be satisfactory to those who love or grew up with her stories. It will bring back fond memories with people who may have their lives progressed forward through Blume's work. This is a fawning documentary. It is just too much. Nobody is this perfect. A genuine human in a film that could have used an equal portion of that trait. Final Score: 5.9/10 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/17/24 Full Review Cindy L Judy is courageous, kind and vulnerable in this remarkable film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/16/23 Full Review Janica T The background sound and music is louder than Judy's voice. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/29/23 Full Review Kristyn F Just watch it. I loved learning about the author. I loved hearing her read snip-its from her book. I loved learning about her audience that would write her. I loved yearning about her personal life journey. There is nothing wrong with learning about a amazing and talented author.
