david j This movie gives an honest look inside the struggles small family farms have been facing for decades. The acting is top notch - so much so that you'll be searching IMDB for more movies in which these actors appear. This sort of reminds me of "Places in the Heart" only set in today's California. Despite the similarity of the situations, July Rising deserves to stand on its own. It does what any truly good drama does; it makes you feel. This film has zero nudity or sex scenes, very little mild violence, and it delivers big! It's almost as if Hollywood has been using sex and violence to sell subpar movies to us for years - oh, wait, it's exactly like that. Get some popcorn and some tissues, and watch this movie!
