Edward Havens FilmJerk.com While boxing movies are a dime a dozen, those with this kind of true emotional involvement do not come around all that often. Rated: A Feb 11, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Strange name until you see the end. A son with dad problems and a dad with son problems end up in the finals for a boxing competition. Two of my favorite Korean actors, but it didn't need to be two hours. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member "I train you to be a better man,not Pro-Boxer." Don't need to have boxing in your hobby's list to watch this,Crying Fist is less sport and more focus on the life of the two desperate protagonists (An EX-Medal Boxer that was abandoned by his wife and a Problem man in the prison.).When they two begin their final round, you will hope for a Win-Win situation but we know it's impossible to end a draw game. This is different from other sentimental sport film that main guy is always the triumpher.Who's the winner?Bet and See yourself. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member This is, by a large margin, the best boxing movie I have ever watched. It's a movie that has the heart of Rocky while maintaining the same cynical edge as The Champion. Boxing's transformative, salvational essence is put on display alongside it's brutality and savagery. Eschewing the typical sports movie archetype, Crying Fist functionally has two protagonists. The viewer will follow both, tragic, stories up until their inevitable collision. Both narratives are distinct and tell the tale of two men, just barely, treading water. Deftly walking the line of melodrama, Crying Fist is able to be evocative without being overwrought, heart-wrenching without being sentimental. Thoughtful, well paced, well acted and genuinely inspired: Crying Fist is a winner. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Text book sporting underdog flick staring the legend that is Min-sik Choi. Nothing griund breaking here, but anvenjoyable flick all the same. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Choi Min-sik and Ryoo Seung-beom are outstanding in this boxing drama. What begins as a hard hitting drama later losses it's momentum and gets bogged down in sentiment but the two roles and contrasting characters fight to regain their self-respect makes it a compelling watch.
