Audience Member Terrific acting performances by Berenger, Humphrys, and Kwanten, but the characters had no development, there were no "Oh my God!" moments, and it overall wasn't all that exciting. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member At first I said what is the this? but the more I saw the more I liked it! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member I remember very little about this. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member While this was one of the first ESPN films and set a good tone, it needed more work. Tom Berenger was very good as Bear Bryant but the rest of the actors could not measure up. I think Mike Robe went wrong by focusing too much on the Bear himself. The Bear of course is/was a magnetic figure and the audience would have gravitated toward the Bear naturally. So why not focus more on players and the camaraderie built in the hellish training camp in 1954? The last lines of the film were epic. Bear compared football to war to a World War II veteran and the World War II veteran put the Bear in his place. If that actually happened, I would have shook the veteran's hand. I love football but it is not the military. Definitely worth seeing but it could have been much better. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member At first I said what is the this? but the more I saw the more I liked it! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member This film is just not that good :( they don't even show the team playing a game and the worst part is that the whole movie is basically a flashback!!!!
