Points for the Wachowski boldness and creativity, and there are some interesting ideas at play, but ultimately a really bad movie. The acting is atrocious all around. The action scenes are mid. Major plot holes all around. It over explains every single thing.

What a dreadful film. The soundtrack, costume and make up are awful, but that’s not the worst thing… Eddie Redmayne is horrendously bad… his half hearted whispering lines of someone who has zero interest, was really cringe to watch.

Honestly, the main reason I even watched this was because it was a Wachowskis film. From an effects, scenery and costumes stand point I loved the film, but the story itself was sort of... well weak. Just didn't have that Wachowski magic. But it'll pass the time away.

Grand plot, okay script, a good ensemble cost (Channing Tatum, Eddie Redmayne, Douglas Booth, Sean Bean - even before we get to Mila Kunis). Maybe just a bit too ambitious? Just too much going on with human ambition vs. love vs. backstabbing factions to pack in alongside so much sci-fi.
