Critics Consensus

Jurassic World can't match the original for sheer inventiveness and impact, but it works in its own right as an entertaining -- and visually dazzling -- popcorn thriller.

Aramide Tinubu Shadow and Act Jurassic World is a visually striking thrill, packed with enough adventure to leave even the most cynical 21st century viewer in awe. Though the storyline itself brings little originality, its cheesiness is oddly endearing. Apr 12, 2017 Full Review Max Weiss Baltimore Magazine The whole thing is an elaborate fantasy, so it seems a bit churlish to say, "that's not believable!" But even a film like this needs some internal logic. Rated: 2/4 Jun 10, 2016 Full Review Alex Abad-Santos Vox Jurassic World is the reason summer movies exist. Rated: 4/5 Oct 20, 2015 Full Review Don Shanahan Every Movie Has a Lesson Just as the dictionary definition of "spectacle" states, the blockbuster is unusual, notable, and entertaining in an eye-catching, dramatic, and very public way. It is big, loud, and dumb, but, hot damn, it sure is fun. Rated: 4/5 Sep 4, 2023 Full Review Sean Axmaker Stream on Demand ... a lot of fun, part mindless two-hour theme park ride, part self-aware sequel where supposedly smart people make a cascade of bad decisions. Aug 20, 2023 Full Review Benjamín Harguindey EscribiendoCine Jurassic World lacks heart because everything happens on the same level of fast-paced, forgettable entertainment. No matter how many times I watch I always seem to be surprised about what's going to happen next. It may start out slow in the beginning but you have to wait and continue to watch it to get to the best parts of the movie. I would recommend this movie to anyone. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/03/25 Full Review Dan B One of the worst reboots. No matter how unlikable Bryce Dallas Howard's character was in the movie, she survived the dinosaurs (while running in heels) because she's Ron Howard's daughter. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/25 Full Review Obi-wan K This is a great soft reboot. And the action is good Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/30/25 Full Review Read all reviews
