Cole Groth FandomWire While it’s entertaining in the moment, its straightforward nature and flat execution keep it from leaving a lasting impression. Rated: 6/10 Sep 29, 2025 Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com “Just Breathe” feels more like a T.V. movie, and while it contains R-rated material, the endeavor doesn’t seem especially dangerous, following flat antagonisms and formulaic writing. Rated: C Sep 17, 2025 Full Review Sebastian Zavala Kahn Ventana Indiscreta The production has made excellent use of its limited resources to develop an experience that never feels cheap. And of course, it helps that Kylne Gallner gives it his all to fully develop protagonist Nick. [Full review in Spanish]. Rated: 3.5/5 Sep 16, 2025 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies The pieces are there and Gallner once again shows he has the acting chops to carry a lead’s workload. But the material lets him down and doesn’t quite develop the kind of intensity a story like this needs. Rated: 2.5/5 Sep 15, 2025 Full Review Josh Bell Crooked Marquee What if a Lifetime-style movie about a woman driven into the arms of a creepy stalker had her terrible ex-boyfriend as the main character instead? Stoner J A decent thriller, though fairly shallow and predictable. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/20/25 Full Review Kelsey J I love Kyle Gallner but this was like watching a bad lifetime movie continue to spiral into more and more unbelievable garbage. Not worth it. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/18/25 Full Review Audience Member The music is epic. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/18/25 Full Review prawnda s feels like they forgot to put jokes in this movie. sure, gallner is a serious actor, but theres always a little irony or dark comedy. this is just boring and cheaply made. 50% because i like both kyle and shawn, but neither of them can do anything with material this weak. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/17/25 Full Review Crockett H. Just another feather in the cap of Kyle Gallner. He continues to pick interesting projects to work on and I’ll keep watching them. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/17/25 Full Review Sarfaraz A Paul Pompa III directed this full-throttle thriller. Kyle Gallner, Shawn Ashmore Chester, and Emyri Crutchfield make up the cast. The story centers around Kyle Gallner, an angry young man who attends anger management session. One day, he takes his African-American girlfriend, Emyri, to the restaurant for a proposal, and in his nervousness, he goes to the toilette, where he overhears the waiter make disparaging remarks about his girlfriend. Kyle comes out and beats the waiter to the point of putting him in a coma. He is arrested and sentenced to a year in jail. Kyle's cellmate, a Muslim serving a term for k*lling a guy sleeping with his wife, advises him to control his anger after telling him about his own redemption. When Kyle is released from jail, he goes to visit his girlfriend, who has long moved out and lives in a tiny apartment. Unbeknownst to Kyle, his parole officer, Shawn, had given the apartment to his girlfriend and has been obsessively hanging around her, which bothers Kyle. Shawn is a corrupt parole officer who manipulates parolees to further his own corrupt, criminal, and nefarious motives. Kyle's life is flipped upside down; he wants to live a clean life as his girlfriend desires, but Shawn causes him to lose his temper to the brink of seeking retribution. Kyle and Shawn are both good here. The film depicts a corrupt and violent parole officer confronting an angry young guy who is learning to manage his rage. The narrative focuses on recuperation and modifying one's nature in order to meet the wishes of loved ones while also dealing with suspicion from those you care about. It's a simple narrative with a suspenseful predicament that will have you on edge till the finish. The ending could have been somewhat better. Shawn did not get enough of the hammering he deserved.
