Mark MacLene (Peter Lawford) is a millionaire playboy, but he won't be one much longer if he keeps blowing through his inheritance. In an effort to control his spending, Mark's executor, Judge Samuel Coulter (Lewis Stone), hires lawyer Lucy Duncan (Janet Leigh) to watch over Mark. The two are even forced to live together, much to the dismay of Lucy's boyfriend, Tom (Richard Anderson). At first Mark tries to ditch Lucy and her frugal ways, but soon he finds himself falling for her.
