Audience Member Sat down to watch this on Christmas channel expecting another hum drum TV movie . I was wrong !! What a great film !! From the opening sequence of Wally Shawn punching the snowman and stealing his hat and scarf I knew I was in for a treat ! A lovely little spin on the Scrooge tale :-) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member One of my favorite Christmas movies, and it is almost never on. Last year I had to get up at 4 am to watch it. How fair is that when Elf gets played 90 times a week? Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Another take on Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol and it is a delightful take. There was a mixup and all the ghosts go to the wrong house. Even though, this a delightful film, I still wouldn't watch it again. It was enjoyable to watch but I did feel a disconnect to the story and it's characters. www.what-to-watch.com Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member It's a cosy Christmas movie but it was missing something to put me in the right christmas spirit. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Like there wasn't enough "Christmas Caroll" movies around, having yet another one, low budget, involving Verne Troyer sounded like the last thing the world needed, and a sure shot for disaster. (God how Bubble Boy still haunts me...) Well, to my great surprise, this turned out to be a Christmas movie with a great deal more heart than all other holidays outings I've seen in recent years. Instead of the usual story of self-redemption, a guy gets to see the life of his grouchy old neighbor and the reason behind his loathing, ans sets to reunite him with his estranged daugther. This movie benefits from a interesting spin on the old story, and an absolutely heart-warming climax. It IS however dragged down by a few shortcomings. It IS a low budget flick after all! The script is definitely lacking in moments, mostly when the story tries for comedy. With that good of a dramatic storyline, frankly they didn't need to try to sell the movie on comedy.
