simon b An excellent portrayal of someone (Charlotte) coming to terms with real life events and discovering other elements of her character in doing so. The film manages to be thrilling yet darkly comic at the same time. I love the attention to detail that helps to give the plot and the characters credibility. Every time I watch it I notice something new. Brilliant! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/29/23 Full Review Melissa L It was very enthralling, but I didn't like the ending. I would recommend it, though. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member I loved watching how she grew emotionally throughout the course of the story, even though it was a terrible way for it to happen. I've watched it more than once. Deeply moving and disturbing film. Five stars. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Excellent film with a suspenseful story, interesting characters , and strong acting. The dramatic end is not predictable. There is an undertone of sadness throughout the movie. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member I really enjoyed this fast-paced thriller and felt quite stressed for the protagonist. She thought her life was bad enough already having lost her job...but that was only the beginning. I wish it was longer than just an hour and a half... Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member There's the hallmarks of a decent thriller in the set-up, and Peake is terrific, but the execution is purest hooey. Kate Muir Times (UK) Maxine Peake is a caricature of a childless, sharp-suited London career woman in Keeping Rosy. Rated: 2/5 Jul 7, 2014 Full Review Charlotte O'Sullivan London Evening Standard I was determined to loathe the immaculate Charlotte yet, thanks to Peake, I found myself willing her on. Rated: 3/5 Jul 4, 2014 Full Review Mark Kermode Observer (UK) An essentially televisual affair, but there are chilly thrills to be had as director Steve Reeves and co-writer Mike Oughton make good on the promise of the award-winning short Taking Life. Rated: 3/5 Jun 29, 2014 Full Review Daniel Green CineVue A compact and modest low budget drama that nevertheless showcases the clear talent of its first-time helmer. Rated: 3/5 Mar 26, 2019 Full Review Jason Best Movie Talk A whirl of conflicting emotions visible on her porcelain-pale skin, [Maxine Peake] makes her off-putting character credible and compelling. Rated: 3/5 Aug 27, 2016 Full Review Matt Glasby Total Film An old-fashioned, quietly coiled thriller of things that could happen. Rated: 3/5 Jul 11, 2014 Full Review Read all reviews
