JAMEEL akhter K It's a movie for family...it's moving for social issue.. acting is great.best movie after jawan Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Donkey (Croatian slang: Kenjac) is a Croatian drama film directed by Antonio Nuic, and I am not sure why is listed under 2012 when it was originally released in 2009 very successfully at the Pula Film Festival. It is a family drama about understanding life and accepting some decisions in life and unpredictability of every day events. The story had a natural flow - wasn't too pretentious and still had substance and meaning - and using the donkey (word which in Croatian slang could be almost identical too 'shitter') as a witness to those dramas in personal lives worked well - especially when Boro (extremely well played by Nebojsa Glogovac) talking to the donkey while drunk, asks: "Why did they call you that?"... thinking to himself that he deserved that name more than this innocent animal shifted from one owner to another. Acting of Natasa Janjic as Jasna was on a very high level, as well as the appearances of the veterans of the Yugoslav and Croatian films Ljubo Kapor as Ante and Tonko Lonza as Pasko. Emir Hadzihafizbegovic as Petar did what was required from him and he did it well enough. If you like dramas, sometimes with harsh contrasts and words in a disturbed family and environment, this could be a choice for a weekend. Antonio Nuic did a good job blending the stories together... and this film makes you think and rethink some of the words you used to your closest relatives... not a bad thing to occupy your minds with.
