David Parkinson Radio Times Lansbury reveals hints of vulnerability beneath the luxury-loving scheming, while Douglass Dumbrille is suitably callous as the seemingly unsuspecting spouse. Rated: 3/5 Sep 24, 2024 Full Review Jeffrey M. Anderson Combustible Celluloid It's certainly not a major movie, but it has a certain lascivious quality that most American films of the 1950s scrubbed clean. Rob D Entertaining movie but I find it difficult to portray Angela Lansbury as a romantic interest Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Life at Stake (1954) (free on TUBI) is a by the numbers film noir mostly noteworthy for Angela Lansbury playing the female fatale and for being one of a series of movies set in the 1950s in which real estate developers are portrayed as the root of evil (we should have paid more attention maybe) 2 1/2 stars out of 5 but mostly for being so over the top as to fun.
