Aarti (Rekha), a homely but wealthy widow, is the unwitting target of a scheme to divest her of her family, fortune and life. Her father is killed by one of his workers. The worker's nephew Sanjay (Kabir Bedi) woos her and weds her, then tosses her into a crocodile-filled lake (aided by her best friend, her husband's secret lover) with the goal of inheriting his dead wife's riches. But though maimed, Aarti lives, has plastic surgery that transforms her into a beauty -- and plots her revenge.

Sharanya Kumar Film Companion Khoon Bhari Maang has everything that made Bollywood in the Eighties fantastically entertaining, but under the excess is a subtle reminder that women need to be independent and in control of their own finances. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member The ultimate woman-takes-revenge-on-the-world-chick-flick film features one of the BEST Rekha performances and the equally suave Kabir Bedi as an amazingly cruel and selfish villain set out to gain everything for himself. Powerfully moving, this story is not intended to be seen by children and/or teens due to some disturbing content matter (I myself viewed this film in my early teens and got totally freaked out) and non-graphic adult-related material presented in the film's themes.
