Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member If you want something shout it out to the universe Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Even though some of the scenes are very melodramatic, I did enjoy this comedy about two teenage girls who become friends through their shared adoration of a Liverpool player. There are some very dull bits, but it's worth persevering with because it does step up a gear. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Strange story of celebrity obsession at its most dangerous. Intriguing but not the best acted. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member I can't recommend this, I was glad when it finished Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Absolutely appalling!Mildly gripping once the footballer arrived on the scene...Otherwise, pap. Peter Bradshaw Guardian The initial stages of this film -- just hanging out with Nicole and Jasmine -- are considerably more interesting than the rather strained denouement. Rated: 2/5 Jun 4, 2010 Full Review Laurence Boyce Little White Lies It doesn't quite sustain itself all the way through, but Kicks displays an intelligence and verve that are hard to deny. Rated: 3/5 Jun 4, 2010 Full Review Sukhdev Sandhu Daily Telegraph (UK) It's a promising feature debut... Rated: 3/5 Jun 3, 2010 Full Review Rich Cline Shadows on the Wall It's an intriguing idea, but the film is too timid and awkward to really get going Rated: 2/5 Jul 14, 2010 Full Review Anton Bitel Film4 All at once a sensitive coming-of-age drama, a mildly implausible abduction thriller and a bittersweet love letter to Liverpool, Heymann's film plays like This Is England for the celebrity-obsessed Noughties. Jun 4, 2010 Full Review David Edwards Daily Mirror (UK) Look for your kicks elsewhere. Rated: 1/5 Jun 4, 2010 Full Review Read all reviews
