What to Know

Critics Consensus

Kill Bill: Volume 2 adds extra plot and dialogue to the action-heavy exploits of its predecessor, while still managing to deliver a suitably hard-hitting sequel.

n the hyper-kinetic Kill Bill 1 you didn't know when the end happened, in Vol 2 you often wish the proceedings could hurtle to the finale, fast. Go to Full Review

Vol. 2 fills in the motivational and emotional blanks that left the first movie tasting like a meal made only of appetizers. Go to Full Review

I don't even want to do Tarantino and his pathetic accomplices the honour of recounting the narrative of the second "volume" of this exercise in trashpedalling, and frankly I don't need to, because there isn't a plot to speak of. Go to Full Review

It might be the more indulgent volume, but its willingness to explore the complex heart beneath the carnage makes it essential viewing and a journey well worth revisiting. Go to Full Review

As in many Tarantino films, his dialogue is never really specific to characters. It’s Tarantino’s world and everyone in it basically speaks the same way. But incredible actors like Thurman manage to make the lines her own. Go to Full Review

bob t 20h It was just way to long and the ending is anticlimactic See more Kevin L @Lakeman 2d A marginally better movie than the 1st, imo. I liked the opening better than the 1st film. And there was no ludicrous scene where 'the bride'/Kiddo kills like 32 men by herself in like 2 1/2 min., replete w/ the ridiculous spin moves and stabbing guys she somehow knew were right behind her. I'm guess that was an homage to that trope scene in so many earlier Asian films of the genre. Still, there were scenes that dragged on like molasses in December w/ tedious, uninteresting dialogue. Disappointing from a director known for his standout dialogue writing. 3.2 stars See more Guilherme M Dec 14 Kill Bill: Vol 2's ending is exactly what you wouldn't expect from it. You would expect a vengeful, bloody and brutal fight with Bill, but actually it goes deeper. 'Face to face' chapter explores Beatrix Kiddo, aka "The Bride" and Bill past, and puts it and all the revenge on the table, on a emotional disclosure, where there is no winner. There possibly couldn't have a better ending. See more Tyler G Dec 9 While it lacks the breakneck pace of the first movie, it is still so, so excellent. Carradine is top tier. Thurman of course is too, playing one of the most iconic roles in movies. See more Benyam E. @bephrem Dec 5 Esteban might be my favorite character in cinema.
