What to Know

Critics Consensus

Kill Bill: Volume 2 adds extra plot and dialogue to the action-heavy exploits of its predecessor, while still managing to deliver a suitably hard-hitting sequel.

Namrata Joshi Outlook n the hyper-kinetic Kill Bill 1 you didn't know when the end happened, in Vol 2 you often wish the proceedings could hurtle to the finale, fast. Rated: 3/4 Jan 7, 2019 Full Review David Ansen Newsweek Vol. 2 fills in the motivational and emotional blanks that left the first movie tasting like a meal made only of appetizers. Mar 13, 2018 Full Review Will Self London Evening Standard I don't even want to do Tarantino and his pathetic accomplices the honour of recounting the narrative of the second "volume" of this exercise in trashpedalling, and frankly I don't need to, because there isn't a plot to speak of. Jan 9, 2018 Full Review Andy Punter InSession Film It might be the more indulgent volume, but its willingness to explore the complex heart beneath the carnage makes it essential viewing and a journey well worth revisiting. Rated: B+ Apr 28, 2025 Full Review Frank J. Avella The Contending As in many Tarantino films, his dialogue is never really specific to characters. It’s Tarantino’s world and everyone in it basically speaks the same way. But incredible actors like Thurman manage to make the lines her own. Dave S The second installment of Kill Bill feels more sedate, at least in relative terms to the first installment, than one would expect, as Tarantino devotes more time to his trademark snappy dialogue and the character development of The Bride…and this is fine. To its detriment, there are times when it feels as though it may drag a bit and a lot of scenes take much longer to play out than feels necessary (hence, the longer runtime). It’s a decent enough way to wrap up the Kill Bill concept, but I was left wanting something more impactful than what was delivered. And by the way, how did The Bride and Elle Driver manage to not get bitten by the black mamba during the chaotic fight scene in the trailer? Just wondering. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/24/25 Full Review Maddox G. I wished they would’ve kept that Bill scene so we can really see what he’s capable of. In the ending, we know Bill was maniacal, but Beatrix bested him easier than I thought she would’ve. That deleted scene with Bill fighting those thugs would’ve set in motion how strong of a character (physically) he was Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/21/25 Full Review Ethan O. Better than the first movie tbh Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/19/25 Full Review Eric W. I’m running out of compliments, so I’ll point out that he needs to stop showing women’s feet. That’s the only negative thing I can say. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/13/25 Full Review Julian S. It reaches for soul where Volume 1 reveled in spectacle, but the overlong runtime blurs what might’ve been a cleaner cut. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/30/25 Full Review Crystal J The ultimate close to a relentless pursuit of vengeance and retribution! Uma and QT made this magical thrill ride so real yet so surreal at the same time. IYKYK Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/28/25 Full Review Read all reviews
