      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Kill Me Three Times offers Simon Pegg an opportunity to play against type as a villain; unfortunately, its derivative storyline fails to offer much of anything to viewers.

Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member The Tomatometer is simply wrong on this one! It's a funny, twisted, cool movie with decent acting and directing. We liked it Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Fun movie to watch with unexpected turns and great acting. 15% rating? No way, something is way off here. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Ethan T Kill Me Three Times is no Tarantino or McDonagh film. Let's certainly establish that before I talk myself into trouble. Would it be bad to say that I rather enjoyed this? The jokes hit their marks more commonly than in Paul, the last Pegg film I watched. I do wish that we could have seen more of Pegg in fun yet no-nonsense action mode than Luke Hemsworth's romance with Alice Braga, the film's least convincing storyline. This aside, the score mostly drifts along with a classy, rocky humdrum, and the Australian coastal scenery is downright wondrous. The screenplay's ambition in the ensemble of characters' intermixing, mostly dynamic, and satisfying arcs ensures that the flaws of the film can go mostly unnoticed until its conclusion. Some of the violence and action approached cartoonish levels not fun enough to be irreproachably gratuitous and nowhere near realistic or serious enough to merit respect. Some of the dialogue in introducing characters felt awkward, but gave way to decent comedy and other substance. For anyone searching for 90 minutes of diversion, the Australian flavour and witty aspirations of Kill Me Three Times tick every important box. Bilge Ebiri New York Magazine/Vulture How do you cast Simon Pegg in a movie and then do virtually nothing with him? Apr 10, 2015 Full Review Glenn Kenny RogerEbert.com All participants could have gotten up to something far more enjoyable. Rated: 1/4 Apr 10, 2015 Full Review Tirdad Derakhshani Philadelphia Inquirer Not a great film. Or particularly good. In fact, it's fairly bad as B-movies go. Rated: 2/4 Apr 10, 2015 Full Review Michael J. Casey Michael J. Cinema Neither fresh nor new, 'Kill Me Three Times' does allow for Pegg's comic timing and exasperation to shine. Rated: 2.5/5 Sep 29, 2021 Full Review Marisa Carpico The Pop Break Kill Me Three Times is part action thriller, part comedy - and neither part is any good. Rated: 3/10 Dec 25, 2018 Full Review Stephen Saito Moveable Fest While it doesn't reinvent the wheel, it's a breezy, crowdpleasing ride that coasts on the charm of its cast and well-honed scheming, something that fortunately for the audience's sake, the characters aren't capable of themselves.
