Audience Member This was a film that I discovered by title alone on a random st of action movies, but it has some really impressive moments. A group of mercenaries pull a heist on a diamond mine and it's loaded with enough stunt-work to keep you watching, if only because it all looks so Goddamned dangerous you're left wondering if anyone died working on this one. Fun stuff, worth a look. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Not a lost classic. A passable time waster that features a really good B-movie cast. Peter Fonda stars as Bradley, a security officer in a diamond mine in Africa. He is carrying on an affair with the bosses daughter (Maud Adams) and has to contend with the arrival of the hard-edged Webb (Telly Savalas) who is the head of security for the diamond syndicate. Webb suspects that someone on the inside is planning a big heist and that a band of mercenaries assembled in the nearby town (including Hugh O'Brian, Christopher Lee, and O.J. Simpson) are working for the "inside man." Savalas wears flashy 1970s duds, menaces Adams, chases Fonda and the mercenaries around the desert, but ultimately does not play the heavy he might have played prior to starring in TV's Kojack. Fonda is a long way off from Easy Rider here, he gets to romance Maud Adams and hang out in South Africa. This film is very politically incorrect as it was made while the Apartheid regime was running the show. Helicopters and vehicles grow up too quickly, some of the prop guns look very fake, ambulance and fire crews attend the carnage caused by the mercenaries attack on the diamond mine but no police show up. Its actually a two star movie but I gave it an extra star because of the cast. James Bond trivia note, Telly Savalas was in On Her Majesties Secret Service; Christopher Lee and Mad Adams were in The Man With The Golden Gun; and Maud Adams was in Octopussy. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member A largely ridiculous title. Where is the force? A bunch of poorly costumed jumpsuits. A very poor plot with some pretty good cast that fails because of mediocre camera work. Seems to be TV grade quality. O.J. Simpson, prior to his bizzare personal life tragedy, is part of this heist film. Peter Fonda, now sporting wild hair do and beard is unrecognizable. Telly Savalas, coming from his popular Kojack detective tv series, looks as if he never left the show. Telly Savalas, a security officer for an international diamond syndicate, concocts a scheme to trap the thieves who have been stealing gems from a huge South African diamond mine. With the help of his deputy, the ruse is successful, but the deputy and his sweetheart join the robbers and flee into the desert with a fortune in uncut stones. Formidable cast but never seems to live up to potential, a sequel with Savalas and Fonda would have been nice. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews
