Brian Lowry CNN.com It's all a good deal of fun, bringing the animated show to life while riffing on those conventions. That said, the tone can be a bit uneven. A Geek Community People are tuning in for the characters and to remember what they loved about the show or to introduce their kids to the show and on that front, Kim Possible delivers in a big way. Joshua G The movie was garbage. The cast were horrible for the characters. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/08/25 Full Review Amir S I watched part of the movie – I suffered. It's terrible – it's bad. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/31/25 Full Review Emma F They turned Kim Possible into a drama queen when she wasn’t like that in the show. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/22/25 Full Review Booga L When I first heard whispers of a live action Kim Possible movie, I considered it a horrible idea. It couldn't be anything but bad. The premise for the cartoon show was ludicrous (I can use that word. I'm over 12). The reason it worked on the show was because it was a CARTOON!! The same premise or ingredients in a live action movie would reduce it to a forgettable novelty movie. Or it would have to be a movie geared for really small, gullible children. I'm a big fan of the Kim Possible cartoon series. It was clever, fun, entertaining and funny. But as a fan I did not ever want to see a live action movie of it made. It doesn't take a brain surgeon or a rocket scientist to know translating a quality cartoon like Kim Possible to live action would be a disastrous venture. There is no memorable live action movie in existence that was taken from cartoon source material. All of them can now be found in the DVD bargain bin of a Smarty Mart store for $2.99 or less. And at that price they're all still way over priced. Out of curiosity I watched multiple reviews, and read the synopsis of the storyline. Based on that information I'm convinced it's even worse than I thought it would be. But I'm not surprised in the least. What made the original show popular? It was prepared using all the right ingredients. Everything gelled. Voice actors, writing, character development, animation style, etc. The recipe produced a cartoon that appealed to a lot of people, young and old. A cartoon that is still, so many years later, enjoyable to watch. Drastically changing that recipe by using completely different ingredients is not going to produce the same flavor. And it's going to put off a lot of fans. Who's old enough to remember when Coca-Cola decided to tamper with their soda recipe? How did that work out for them? I have not even watched this movie. And I have zero plans on ever watching it. I've seen enough clips in video reviews and heard enough descriptions that convince me that even without watching it, I'm right on the money with my assessment of it. The clips I've seen from the actual movie are painful to watch. It looks like a train wreck. Everything I've seen screams: "DON'T WATCH THIS GARBAGE!" Even the clips Disney used to "promote" the movie to try to get viewers do nothing but clue me in on how bad it is. The bottom line is Hollywood needs to stop producing live action movies based on beloved cartoons. They don't work on any memorable level except for how awful they ultimately end up being. Watch the original episodes and the two animated movies if you need to satisfy your Kim Possible fix. Watching some substandard live action movie will only serve to stir up your ire for the disservice they did to the reputation of the show.
