Audience Member What was I smoking when I was younger?! Was I thinking of something else...? I remember this being decent, but it's just a silly, kind of incoherent monster flick. Though it does have some great creature effects and lots of goo. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/14/22 Full Review Audience Member Ishy but effective FX highlight this 1980s thriller. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie was one of my first horror movies. I love the meltdown sequence when you see destruction and slime and thunder and lightning in the background. And the eerieness of the music makes it even better. The meltdown sequence includes the monster melting into a man. The opening music gets points for its dark moody eerieness. I also like the watermelon scene. I think Dr Lloyd got what he deserved in the end. However the woman transforming into a fish scene did not interest me. But all in all it is very good. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Tons of slimey monster guts and great creature effects. reminds me of a Brian Yuzna or Stuart Gordon type of movie. The plot is a little hard to follow at first but at the end it all makes sense. Very under rated monster movie! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Caryn James New York Times A disjointed, jigsaw-puzzle movie that is constantly announcing its borrowed characters and subplots and special effects. Rated: 2/4 Oct 26, 2022 Full Review Leo Brady AMovieGuy.com The Kindred is a movie concocted in a basement and once you discover it you will never forget it. It belongs to the category of movies that can entertain or not depending on an individual's inclinations.
